The Revelstoke Arts Council (RAC) has recently debuted a brand-new website designed by Tennille Barber at Computer Wiz. A distinct improvement over the last site, the new one is simple, yet artistic, and easy to navigate.

The new site is intended to be more interactive and media-based.

On the homepage, a slider features photos of cultural events. This tool will hopefully be used to show videos from the theatre, or to spotlight artists.

Previously, the website wasn’t set up to allow the RAC board of directors to update it themselves. Barber has helped them learn how to work with the platform, WordPress, which will allow for more relevant and current content.

Potential benefits of the new site are great for everyone. The Revelstoke community now has improved access to cultural and event information. The RAC is hoping to increase ticket sales by offering advance sales online. Hopefully residents will become more aware of the great events and productions the the RAC offers.

More interest will also mean increased exposure, for both the RAC and their sponsors. You can view the sponsors by checking out the banners at the bottom of the page. Barber has also created a separate website that highlights Revelstoke’s February Spirit Fest.

Barber does a lot of her work for the area’s non-profits. She said, “I offer good rates as I love to help them enrich lives in our growing community.”

It seems the RAC already understands the advantages of developing their online resources.
